Former New Mexico head coach Danny Gonzales is set to join Brent Brennan's new Arizona staff as special teams coordinator and linebackers coach, according to a report Wednesday from ESPN.
The Albuquerque native has spent his entire career in the Southwest. He played safety and punter at New Mexico and coached at UNM, San Diego State, Arizona State and then a 4-year run as head coach at his alma mater.
Gonzales's 2-year run at Arizona State came as defensive coordinator on Herm Edwards's staff in 2018-19.

Brennan's Arizona staff is expected to include defensive coordinator Duane Akina, senior San Jose State assistant Zo Carter, and has announced Cullen Carroll as head strength coach after serving in the same role at SJSU.
