From the moment that Charlie Strong's feet hit the ground in Austin, he's been focused on changing the culture and putting his personal stamp on the Texas program.
With camp starting last week, many Longhorns are currently locked in position battles to secure their place on the depth chart, and according to Horns Digest, if you're an upperclassmen you want to make sure you're head and shoulders above any freshman when that depth chart gets sorted out.
"We told the older guys, 'If we're at the midpoint of camp and you're in a dead-heat with freshman, we're going to play the freshman,'" linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary told Horns Digest.
"So you have to be head-and-shoulders above them to justify us keeping you in there along with the freshman, because if you play the freshman, it's an investment. You're building for the future."
Seeing that Texas has brought in a top ten 2015 class to compete with the upperclassmen, this sounds like pretty good motivation for a lot of the position battles in Austin.
Only time will tell.
