The latest with the Jacksonville Jaguars (NFL UPDATE)

After reports of an expected dismissal on Sunday, on the day of the team's season finale, the Jacksonville Jaguars officially let go head coach Doug Marrone go on the morning of Monday, January 4th.

The Jags finished 1-15 this season. Marrone was 23-43 overall with the organization, highlighted by a 10-6 year first full season back in 2017.

The Jags also have an opening at GM after moving on from Dave Caldwell in late November.

The biggest name that has been attached to this one early in the process has been Urban Meyer, who could be drawn to the opportunity to have the #1 overall pick in the upcoming draft (where Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence is widely expected to be taken), and take over a really enticing situation with 11 draft picks and lots of cap space with the potential to improve the team immediately.

With Urban finalizing a deal with the Jaguars, Jeremy Fowler tweets that two names worth watching for his staff are Chris Ash as defensive backs coach and former Texans defensive coordinator Anthoy Weaver as head defensive assistant / defensive line coach.

Urban Meyer is finalizing his deal with the Jags, per multiple reports. Looks like the Jags went all in, and got their guy.
