Last week, the Linden-Kildare (TX) program found themselves in unprecedented territory after naming their third head coach in a 48 hour span.
They're now on head coach number four in a week.
As a quick recap, Jason Ferguson stepped down after two games and an 0-2 start, and assistant coach JD Russell was appointed interim head coach. However, that lasted less than 48 hours as Russell decided to step down.
School superintendent Rex Burks stepped in on a temporary basis to lead the team as head coach and athletic director last week so they wouldn't have to forfeit the week's game against Hughes Springs - a program off to a 1-1 start after an 0-10 2023 season.
While Burks stepping in allowed them to get the game in, the program lost 54-0 to Hughes Springs, and now Burks is stepping aside to focus on his superintendent duties.
The school has decided to turn to baseball coach Jeremy Hogan, per Matt Stepp.
Hogan, the team's fourth head coach in a week, will step in as interim head coach for the rest of the season.
He steps in as the program has been outscored 143-6 through their first three games
It's unprecedented to see four head coaches in a season, much less in a week. Here's to hoping that Hogan is a familiar face the team can rally around and provide some stability for the Linden-Kildare program.
