Iowa State: Iowa State University Football Strength & Conditioning is currently accepting applications for volunteer strength and conditioning interns for the Summer 2026 Semester. This is an unpaid position that will last for the duration of the summer semester, with an estimated start date of June 1, 2026, and an anticipated completion date of July 31, 2026. Interns will receive an educational curriculum along with direct practical experience working with NCAA Division I football student-athletes under the supervision of the Iowa State Football Strength & Conditioning staff. Applicants must be working toward or have completed a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or a related field and demonstrate a powerful desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning, particularly within collegiate football. Candidates should possess a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. Applicants should also be working toward CSCS or CSCCA certification and CPR/AED certification. Responsibilities will include cleaning and maintenance of the football strength and conditioning facilities, assisting with or observing football training sessions, setting up and breaking down equipment for all workouts, and completing additional duties as assigned by the football strength staff. Marshall: Marshall University Football Strength & Conditioning is now accepting applications for Strength & Conditioning Interns for Summer 2026, with a start date of May 26th, and concluding on July 30th. The Marshall University Strength & Conditioning program provides aspiring Strength & Conditioning with foundational knowledge and mentorship to becoming successful in the strength and conditioning field. A successful candidate will be allotted the opportunity to receive hands-on experience and more responsibilities as assigned. We are looking for motivated individuals who have a passion for athletics and sports performance. You will also be able to learn from a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach (MSCC), and will be able to sit for the SCCC exam, if desired. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with team training sessions and performance testing. Help introduce new student-athletes to weight room policies and procedures. Set up and ensure all necessary equipment is ready for upcoming training sessions. Ensure proper nutrition is given to student-athletes. Assist with the daily upkeep of the entirety of the Dunfee Weight Room. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. Additionally, fellows will participate in weekly fellow meetings that will help develop core values, programming, exercise technique, and overall coach development. Fellowship curriculum will conclude with presenting a self-made strength and conditioning program for an assigned team. Strict adherence to established NCAA, Sun Belt Conference, and Marshall University rules and regulations. A violation of these rules and regulations can lead to disciplinary actions, including termination. COMPENSATION: This is unpaid fellowship, however, fellowship hours under a Master Strength & Conditioning (MSCC) are applicable to be used for the SCCC exam certification, if desired. QUALIFICATIONS: Must have or be working towards a Bachelor’s/Masters’ Degree. Knowledge of strength training, speed, agility, flexibility, nutrition and cardiovascular conditioning preferred.
