Zach Kittley is expected to be the next head coach at Florida Atlantic, sources confirmed to FootballScoop on Monday. On3 first reported the move.
Kittley, 33, has spent the past three seasons as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Texas Tech. His first full-time, on-the-field job came as Houston Christian's OC and quarterbacks coach from 2018-20, and he also held the same role at Western Kentucky in 2021 before coming to Lubbock.
FAU will be his first head coaching role, where he will replace Tom Herman. The Owls, who won Conference USA twice under Lane Kiffin, have not enjoyed a winning season since 2020. Kittley will be the fourth straight FAU head coach with an offensive background, dating back to Kiffin's 2017 hiring.
For Texas Tech, the move means Joey McGuire will have to replace both coordinators after firing defensive coordinator Tim DeRuyter on Sunday.
As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
