Union College head coach Jon Poppe is expected to take the same position at Columbia, sources told FootballScoop on Friday.
Poppe recently completed his first season at Union, a Division III school in Schenectady, N.Y. He led the Garnet Chargers to a 10-2 mark, a 5-1 record in the Liberty League, and a second-round appearance in the D3 playoffs.
Poppe coached previously at Columbia under 9-time Ivy League champion Al Bagnoli. He also spent nine seasons at Harvard, coaching defensive backs and special teams.
Columbia went 3-7 in 2023. Mark Fabish coached the Lions on an interim basis this fall but was not retained on a full-time basis.
