Jacksonville State senior defensive analyst Henry Weinreich is expected to join Oklahoma's staff in a similar capacity, sources told FootballScoop on Monday.
Weinreich will join new defensive coordinator Zac Alley after working alongside him over the past two seasons at Jax State. He's expected to carry a defensive analyst title at OU.
Weinreich first joined the Gamecocks program as a GA under John Grass in 2020, then remained on when Rich Rodriguez took over the program in 2022.
At Jacksonville State, Weinreich's responsibilities included opponent breakdown, game-planning, running the scout team, identifying recruits, and managing the support staff.
Following his third season as a GA, Rodriguez created the senior analyst position -- the first in program history -- to keep Weinreich in the program.
Weinreich's prior experience includes a GA stint at Division II West Georgia, and prior to that he was the defensive line coach and strength coach at Rhodes College, a Division III school in Tennessee. He entered college football as a volunteer D-line assistant at Washington University in St. Louis.
Alley joined the program after two seasons in charge of the defense at Jacksonville State and one at ULM. He worked under Brent Venables at Clemson from 2012-18.
