Butler Benton has spent the last few seasons building an impressive resume at Georgia Southern and Michigan State, and now appears heading to the SEC.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Benton will be the new executive director of player personnel for Arkansas on Sam Pittman's staff.
Benton spent last season on staff at Georgia Southern as their director of player personnel.
Before Georgia Southern, Benton was on Mark Dantonio's staff at Michigan State where he spent four seasons in East Lansing as the player personnel coordinator and also served as the director of on campus recruiting at one point as well.
At both Michigan State and Georgia Southern, Benton served as the lead recruiter in landing a number of key players and All Conference performers. In his one year at Georgia Southern, he helped to make an immediate impact by signing one of the highest rated players in school history.
Previous stops for Benton include University of New Orleans (director of student-athlete enrichment), Notre Dame (assistant director of player development, engagement, and academic enhancement), and Kent State (internal operations assistant).
He was a four-year letter winner for Dantonio as a player at Cincinnati, an area where he has gone on to have a lot of success recruiting.
