Source: Brown is making a coordinator change (rhode island)

Sources tell FootballScoop that offensive coordinator Ryan Mattison will not return at Brown (FCS - RI).

The change after the Bears finished 3-7.

Just one season ago, Mattison's offensive attack racked up nearly 400 yards per game, ranking second in the Ivy League and then led the entire conference with 300 yards per game.

They had similar success during the 2022 campaign, ranking third in the league in passing offense.

Mattison spent the past five seasons on staff, originally joining the staff as tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator in 2019 earning a promotion to offensive play caller prior to the 2021 season.

Before joining the Ivy League staff at Brown, Mattison had a stop at fellow Rhode Island FCS institution Bryant as well as D-III stops at Anna Maria (D-III - MA) and Bowdoin (D-III - ME).

Earlier in his career, Mattison spent a few seasons at Boston College in graduate assistant roles in recruiting and on the offensive side of the ball.

Last week, sources shared that defensive coordinator Tim Weaver was being let go at Brown after five seasons as well, so the change on the offensive side of the ball means that head coach James Perry is parting ways with both coordinators that have been with him his entire tenure leading the program and big changes are in the works.

As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
