As Colorado wrapped up practice Monday following its final open date of the 2024 season, Buffaloes staffers began to remind players that registration for spring semester classes was imminent.
Star quarterback Shedeur Sanders, a potential Heisman Trophy finalist and likely highly coveted selection in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft, left zero doubt about his inclusion in that upcoming NFL talent sweepstakes.
"Hey, hey listen up: 8:30 A.M. registration," the voice commands. "Eight-thirty A.M. No one is to miss. So, we got that?"
Multiple responses ask what the registration is for:
"Registration for what?," Shedeur Sanders asks.
"Voting licenses," one player says.
"Oh, you said voting," adds another.
"Classes," is the response.
"You know I'm going to the League (NFL)," Shedeur Sanders answers with a smile.
As a teammate points to Shedeur Sanders and says, "Boy got registration; coming back next year," Shedeur Sanders then answers, "Hey, do not wish that on me."
Playing his third season for his father, Deion Sanders, stemming from his freshman campaign at Jackson State to his past two seasons at Colorado, Shedeur Sanders is No. 8 nationally in passing yards (2,591) and tied for the third-most passing touchdowns in college football with 21. He's 10th in passing efficiency with a 164.98 rating.
