Michigan State is set to add a veteran Big Ten presence to their defensive staff, according to multiple reports this morning.
Chad Wilt, who most recently served as co-defensive coordinator at Indiana under Tom Allen, is reportedly joining the Spartans staff. He served as the team's defensive coordinator in 2022 before transitioning to co-coordinator this past fall.
With the Gophers, Wilt also coached the linebackers and has an extensive background working with the defensive line.
Before joining the Hoosiers staff, Wilt coached the defensive line at Minnesota.
The veteran major college coach also has previous stops at Cincinnati, Army, Maryland, Ball State, Liberty, and Virginia.
In East Lansing, he joins the side of the ball being led by former Minnesota defensive coordinator Joe Rossi, who is the Spartans defensive coordinator, as well as some assistants who followed Jonathan Smith from Oregon State.
