"Last Chance U" renewed for Season 3, moving to Kansas (Featured)

It's official: "Last Chance U" is coming back, but it's not coming back to Scooba.

As has long been rumored, Netflix confirmed Thursday it has renewed "Last Chance U." for Season 3 and will move the show's focus to Independence Community College in Independence, Kan.

“While we now have the opportunity to head to Kansas, we hope to revisit the people we’ve grown to love over the past two seasons of Last Chance U,” director Greg Whiteley said. “We are forever grateful to the talented team at East Mississippi Community College who dedicated months of their lives in Scooba and trusted us to tell their incredible stories.”

The Pirates posted a 5-4 mark in 2016 under first-year head coach Jason Brown, the program's first winning mark in a decade. "Last Chance U" cameras are on campus now and will follow the Pirates throughout the 2017 season, with a Season 3 release, if form follows from the last two seasons, slated for late July of 2018.

"I'm truly honored for 'Last Chance U' to choose the hardest working staff in America and to showcase our fine student athletes here at Independence Community College," Brown said in a statement to FootballScoop.
