Kliff Kingsbury interviewing for a possible return to the NFL (Kliff Kingsbury)

Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury spent this past season on the sidelines at USC as a senior offensive analyst / quarterbacks coach for Lincoln Riley, but a return to the NFL could be on the horizon.

Adam Schefter shares today that Kinsbury is expected to interview for the Chicago Bears offensive coordinator opening.

Not coincidentally, the Bears also hold onto the #1 overall pick in the NFL Draft, where USC quarterback and former Heisman winner Caleb Williams is widely expected to go.

At 44 years old, Kingsbury has experience as both a college head coach and NFL head coach.

He went 35-40 as the head coach at his alma mater Texas Tech - over six seasons, and briefly accepted the offensive coordinator joe at USC under Clay Helton before the Cardinals bucked all traditional hiring norms in bringing Kiffin in as their head coach.

His time in the desert lasted four seasons, and while he led them to an 11-6 mark in 2021 and a .500 finish the year before, Kingsbury was let go following a disappointing 4-13 season in 2022.

Landing the Bears job would put Kingsbury back in familiar territory as an offensive coordinator, as he previously won the FootballScoop Offensive Coordinator of the Year Award twice - once at Houston, and then again at Texas A&M.
