Johns Hopkins head coach Jim Margraff has passed away, according to multiple reports.
Margraff had been JHU's head coach since 1990. Over his 29 seasons, Margraff won 221 games, a school record, and at least a share of 14 Centennial Football Conference titles, a conference record. Margraff's 14 conference titles represent every conference championship in Johns Hopkins history; those 14 titles also put JHU in first place in the Centennial Football Conference all-time. His 221 wins were the most by any college football coach for a school in the state of Maryland.
Margraff guided Johns Hopkins to its first Division III semifinal appearance in 2018, and for that he was named the D3football.com Coach of the Year in 2018.
He was 58 years old.
