Giants making changes to their defensive staff (defense)

Back in the first week of January the Giants organization announced the decision to retain head coach Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen despite a disappointing 3-14 season.

Daboll won 9 games in his first season, leading the Giants to the playoffs, but in the two years since his team's have won 6 and now 3 games and desperately need to show marked improvement this fall.

As Daboll moves into his fourth season with the franchise, changes are being made on the defensive side of the ball.

Mike Garafolo shares that defensive passing game coordinator / defensive backs coach Jerome Henderson has been let go.

Henderson had been with the Giants dating back to Joe Judge's tenure as head coach back in 2020.

The team has also dismissed safeties coach Michael Treier, Garafolo adds.

Treier was in his fifth season with the Giants as well, his second coaching the safeties and had worked closely with Henderson during his time in New York.

The Giants allowed teams to complete over 69% of their pass attempts last season, which ranked tied for 31st in the league and only intercepted 5 passes on the year, which also ranked 31st in the league.
