The 2022 campaign was Florida State's best since 2016, a 6-season dip that undoubtedly felt like 60. The Seminoles won 10 games for the first time since '16, defeated rivals Florida and Miami for the first time since '16, and finished in the AP Top 25 for the first time since '16. The 2016 season was the end of Jimbo Fisher's glory days in Tallahassee and 2022 was, hopefully, the start of Mike Norvell's.
The school and its head coach have already agreed on an extension through 2029 at an $8 million per year price tag, and now the raises and extensions to his staff are out as well. The program released documents to a number of media outlets on Tuesday.
Nine of Norvell's 10 assistants are back from 2022; six are under contract beyond the 2023 campaign, and six netted raises from 2022.
Defensive coordinator Adam Fuller will be the highest-paid assistant in 2023 at $1.2 million, but offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins netted a 3-year deal that pays $1.15 million in 2023 but shoots to $1.25 million in '24 and $1.3 million in '25.
Florida State's total investment in Norvell and his 10 on-field assistants will be $14.625 million in 2023, a program record.
