Dana Dimel will not return at UTEP.
Dimel went 3-9 this season and was 5-7 overall in 2022.
He went 20-49 overall at UTEP over six seasons.
Contractually, he is due a buyout of about $700,000, Steve Berkowitz shares.
Before taking over the Miners program, Dimel was a longtime assistant at Kansas State under Bill Snyder, working with the offensive line, running backs, and tight ends in addition to serving as co-offensive coordinator.
From 1997-1999 he served as the head coach at Wyoming, where he went 22-13 before leaving to become the head coach at Houston.
There, he failed to notch a winning season in three tries, finishing 8-26 overall.
He also had a three-year stint as an assistant at Arizona following his time as a head coach with the Cowboys and Cougars.
