Biff Poggi has been let go at Charlotte, multiple reports share this evening.
The move is the third head coaching change of the day and the second with the AAC.
Poggi was in his second season leading the team. He went 3-9 in 2023 and was off to a 3-6 start this season after battling a myriad of injuries early in the year.
He took over the Charlotte program after serving on Jim Harbaugh's support staff at Michigan.
Well known for his accomplishments as a head coach in the state of Maryland at Saint Frances Academy and The Gilman School, Poggi and his signature cutoff leave the Charlotte sidelines with a record of 6-15 in a season and some change.
Reports share that his buyout is expected to be in the $1.3 million range.
Tight ends coach / associate head coach Tim Brewster, who joined the staff this past off season after a season with Deion Sanders at Colorado, is expected to be the interim head coach.
Brewster will lead the team on the road against Florida Atlantic, who just fired Tom Herman, and then wrap up the season at home against UAB.
