Big Ten releases much anticipated 2020 fall schedule (schedule)

With the news of Big Ten football officially back in the fall being shared earlier this week, a lot of folks have been wondering what the schedule will look like.

Earlier this morning, the Big Ten announced that much anticipated schedule, set to open October 24th.

Among some of the more interesting games worth pointing out:

  • Minnesota opens at home against Michigan
  • First year head coaches Mel Tucker at Michigan State and Greg Schiano at Rutgers get each other week one.
  • Penn State and Ohio State will play in Happy Valley week two (October 31st)
  • Ohio State will travel to Ann Arbor the last week of the new regular season to take on Michigan

Big Ten Champions Week will take place December 19th - the day before the CFP selection committee's final meeting to determine the semifinalist teams, and will not only feature the East vs. West division winners but will also give an opportunity for the #2 team in the East face the #2 in the West, and #3 vs. #3, and so on. That guarantees teams at least 9 games with the 8 regular season games +1 during Champions Week model.
