Cumberland (NAIA - TN): Cumberland University, located in the Nashville suburbs, is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Graduate Assistant Sports Performance Coach. Candidates must have a great work ethic, strong communication skills, and be passionate about continually progressing as a strength and conditioning professional. The position requires certification in First Aid and CPR, and progress towards CSCS and or SCCC and previous coaching experience. Preference will be given to applicants that have more coaching experience, have already obtained one of these certifications and/or the USAW certification, have experience with the Teambuildr training platform, and have collegiate athletic experience. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the implementation of Football training programs; directing the design and implementation of training programs for Baseball, Softball, Track & Field, and 1-2 other assigned sports; weight room supervision; daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment; and other duties as assigned by the Director of Sports Performance. The Graduate Assistant position is a 2 year assignment beginning in Fall 2025 and includes a 100% tuition waiver for all graduate credit hours, on-campus housing fully covered, and a full meal plan fully covered (no monetary stipend). The anticipated start date is July 21, 2025 or July 28, 2025 (but can be flexible with start date). South Dakota (FCS): The University of South Dakota Football Sports Performance is now accepting applications for two highly motivated candidates for Graduate Assistantship-Paid Intern spots starting Summer 2025. These positions will work directly with football and assist with all training sessions, practices, games etc. Responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to, the following: assisting in all day to day aspects of the strength and speed programs. Data collection and interpretation; setting up and breaking down of training sessions; Nutrition and fueling station duties, assisting with routine maintenance of training facilities; as well as other assigned duties based on staff needs and the candidates’ experience. Requirements: a current CPR/AED certification. Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field. SCCC, CSCS, USAW certifications or working towards them. Ideal candidates possess a strong work ethic, punctuality, high level of attention to detail, desire to learn, and a passion to become a strength and conditioning professional. Experience as a collegiate athlete is preferred. The official start date is TBD but will be sometime mid to late May. Compensation and Application: This position will pay $1,000 dollars a month and 2/3 of Graduate Tuition but, school is not a requirement just an option.
