Purdue: Purdue plans to bring head coach Darrell Hazell back for a fourth season, according to Pat Forde of Yahoo Sports.

Rob Chudzinski: Part of the rationale in promoting Chud to offensive coordinator is that it gives the organization a better opportunity to evaluate Chud as a potential successor to Chuck Pagano as head coach of the Colts, per Jason Cole. Cole adds that Chud "has made it clear to people" that he doesn't want to investigate the head coaching opportunity at the University of Miami until the Colts' season is over, or "well into it, at least".

Academic Bonuses: USA Today's Steve Berkowitz relays that Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson and Fresno State head coach Tim DeRuyter will both receive $125,000 bonuses based upon academic successes achieved by their respective teams, as defined in their contracts. NIU head coach Rod Carey's contract calls for bonus payments of $2,000 each to assistants and their director of football operations.

Michigan: Fred Jackson, a longtime former assistant for the Wolverines under Gary Moeller, Lloyd Carr, Rich Rodriguez, and Brady Hoke, has been named the head coach at Ypsilanti Community HS (MI). Jackson coached the running backs, and also served as associate head coach, assistant head coach, and offensive coordinator during his time with the UM program.

Minnesota: Jerry Kill had $9.4 million remaining on his contract when he made the decision to step down. The University is buying out the remainder of his contract for $800,000 per Andy Greder of the Pioneer Press.

Texas: Former athletic director Steve Patterson will be paid approximately $3 million over the next two years, subject of offset, in connection with his buyout from Texas. For those so inclined, this link will take you to his "Agreement and Release".

Minnesota: Interim head coach Tracy Claeys notes that defensive backs coach / special teams coordinator Jay Sawvel has taken over most of the defensive coordinator duties.

Weber State (FCS - UT):Weber State University is looking to fill a home game on Sept. 2, 2017. Would prefer to schedule an FCS home-home series with a return game on Sept. 8 2018. If interested, please contact DFO Grant Duff at grantduff@weber.edu.

Kentucky: UK will pay New Mexico State $1.3 million for their game in 2016, plus a kicker. No not literally a place kicker; but a basketball game and another payout.

Tennessee Titans: Following the dismissal of Ken Whisenhunt yesterday (who called the plays on game day), offensive coordinator Jason Michael will now call plays and assistant tight ends coach Arthur Smith will now coach the tight ends.
