Virginia Tech will look the part for the Battle at Bristol (Featured)

While the hype for the greatest opening weekend in college football history builds, the Battle at Bristol between Tennessee and Virginia Tech awaits its time in the spotlight during Week 2.

Tennessee has announced it will don its traditional orange-and-white uniforms for the game. Said Vols AD Dave Hart: "My logic goes if all goes as we expect and set an all-time attendance record, it will be replayed for decades. Ten years from now, our alumni, anywhere in the world, they would immediately know that Tennessee was in that (world's largest) game," he told 247. "In this instance, I felt strongly that tradition needed to prevail. I'm only speaking for us. The University of Tennessee will wear our traditional orange and white uniforms in that game."

Real talk: I agree with that stance. Fashion is cyclical, so there's a good chance Nike could have drawn up something gaudy and flashy for the Vols, and 30 years from now the first thing Big Orange fans would think when highlights of this game are shown on SEC Network 3.0 would be, "What's with those uniforms?"

But while I agree with sticking by your traditional kits for momentous occasions, I -- along with most of you -- like looking at new uniforms.

That's where Virginia Tech steps in. The Hokies will bring back their "Hokie Stone" gimmick for a look that mirrors the Bristol Motor Speedway race track.
