If you've read anything on Kentucky high performance coach Erik Korem since he landed at Kentucky as part of Mark Stoops' staff, you know that he, and the rest of the strength department, thinks outside of the box when it comes to matters of strength and conditioning.

Everything from the brand new flooring and layout of the weight room, all the way down to the racks, has been meticulously thought out in their new set up.

"The new racks are...exciting. I don't even know if I want to call them racks, it's more like a cage, and it's adaptable to anything that we could ever come up with. If we come up with some attachment in the future, we can attach it on." Korem explained.

Bert Sorin, a Sorinex employee that came in and helped with the transformation, explained that the endless possibilities are just part of the reason that their new racks are so exciting.

"It's built kind of upon the same idea of an erector set, or Legos. The integrating pieces are all of the same standardized sizes, they're an inch and sixteenth holes every two inches in every direction, so it sounds very simple but because of that, all the pins, all the accessories and brackets and braces are all built off the same grid system."

This is just the latest way that Kentucky is staying on the cutting edge in the strength and conditioning department. Expect plenty more in the coming months.
