Video: Inside the "coaching technology department" at Michigan State (video)

Throughout the season, Michigan State's All Access spot has taken viewers inside a different aspect of the program each week. A few weeks ago it was a really special bit on the strength department and Ken Mannie, and this week, cameras gave an inside look at the Spartans' "coaching technology department".

It's got an official title like that because what they do goes far beyond just filming practice and making sure that it's available for the staff to view as soon as they walk off the practice field. That title comes with plenty of added responsibilities.

"We're responsible for everything technology wise, as it relates to coaching, as it relates to the players, as it relates to the program for the most part." Matt Harper, the director of football coaching technology explained.

"If it plugs into a wall, we're expected to know how it works, how to fix it, how to use it, and how to best utilize it to make us, as a program, more efficient."

These guys do a ton to make sure that coach Dantonio and his staff are able to focus strictly on coaching, and the assistants will be the first to praise them for their work, as Pat Narduzzi does in the clip.

"The importance, the efficiency, and how deep we go with video has just exponentially increased in my time here. The amount, and how deep we're able to go into breaking down a team is just mind blowing compared to the way it was just five years ago, or shoot, just three years ago." Harper added.

Take a closer look behind the scenes at the role that the guys in the "coaching technology department" play in East Lansing in the clip below.
