Southern University (LA): The Southern University Strength & Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for the 2014 Summer Strength and Conditioning internship program. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for various sports, teaching student athletes proper technique and equipment use, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities and participation in weekly projects and professional development throughout the internship program. Compensation: Division 1 experience with earned recommendation for future career opportunities. Potential mentorship opportunity to obtain CSCCa, SCCC certification will be available for some candidates. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION WILL BE PROVIDED. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree or be in the last semester of coursework for undergraduate degree in exercise physiology, health and exercise science, kinesiology or related field of study. Certification from one or more of the following (NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW) are preferred but not required but willing to obtain. Start date is June 2, 2014. Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA): Mater Dei HS is accepting resumes for the position of Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. This 12-month full-time position is responsible for developing, organizing and implementing performance development, weight training and conditioning programs to address sport-specific needs. Campbell (FCS - NC): Campbell University’s Strength and Conditioning Department is currently seeking qualified intern candidates for the Summer 2014. Internship will begin May 19th and end August 1st. Intern responsibilities will consist of but are not limited to observation of strength coaches, setting up and breaking down of equipment for training sessions, maintenance responsibilities, data entry, clerical duties, active participation in projects and assignments throughout internship, and assisting strength coaches as needed during training sessions. Qualifications: Applicants must be certified or working toward certification with the CSCCa (SCCC) or the NSCA (CSCS) and have current CPR/AED certification. Compensation: There is no monetary compensation for this position. Accepted applicants may be able to receive college credit and a recommendation for future employment upon completion of the internship.
