Loyola Marymount: The strength and conditioning staff at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA is seeking highly motivated volunteer interns for the 2014 Fall semester. Possession of the NSCA-CSCS or NASM-PES is preferred. Applicants must be able to commit to volunteering a minimum of 20 hours per week for this opportunity. Interns will have the opportunity to assist with the training of Division 1 collegiate athletes, learn principles of program design and implementation, and enhance their coaching skills. Greater responsibilities will be granted to interns upon demonstration of excellent ability and desire. Brown University: Brown University is now accepting SUMMER AND FALL internship applications. Applicants must be taking this internship for course credit and possess a strong desire to become a collegiate strength & conditioning coach. Intern will have the opportunity to work with 38 Ivy League varsity sports and gain hands on experience. Duties will include but not limited to: assisting with the supervision of training programs; assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties; completion of internship curriculum. This is a NON-PAID internship. Webber International (FL): Webber International University is seeking qualified applicants for 2014-2015 Intern-Assistant positions. Benefits include free housing, full meal plan, and work attire/athletic apparel. This is an unpaid position but includes supplemental on campus employment. The position runs from July 2014-April 2015. Responsibilities are similar to that of a graduate assistant minus the graduate classes, as the intern-assistant would be in control of programming and leading workouts for a select number of our teams; assisting with football strength & conditioning; assisting with rehab assignments; assisting with day-to-day operational work in running the Fitness Center. Please be prepared for the rigors of a structured mentorship program, dealing with the integration and application of various strength and conditioning principles. This job will prepare the intern-assistant for a graduate-level or an assistant-level position, and is only for those who desire a career in Strength & Conditioning. Candidates for this program must be enrolled in or have graduated from an exercise science or related program, and must have current CPR/AED certification. Waldorf (NAIA - IA): Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa, is seeking a Strength & Conditioning Coach/Director of Sports Performance Center. The Strength and Conditioning Coach provides expertise, guidance, and training in the area of strength training and physical conditioning for all student-athletes and sports teams at Waldorf College. Responsibilities: Responsible for the total athletic performance preparation of the student-athletes to include: development of training programs; application of appropriate motivational techniques; instruction of student-athletes in the proper execution of weight training exercises, plyometrics, agility drills, flexibility training, speed improvement technique, conditioning modalities, and nutrition; and communicating with appropriate coaching personnel regarding the needs and demands of the student-athletes. Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in strength training or related field is required, master’s preferred. Nationally recognized certification required. Minimum of two years strength training experience at the collegiate level preferred. This is a 10-month, full time position.
