Washington State: Washington State University is looking for paid Summer Interns. There are (4) Olympic (non-football) positions available. DURATION: June 9th through August 1st, 2014. DUTIES: Assist in strength and conditioning day to day operations at Washington State University. These interns will help in the day to day operations of the Cougar Mania Strength and Conditioning Complex in all facets of training and upkeep of the facility. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: In your senior year of your Bachelor’s Degree in exercise science or related field, experience in collegiate weight room and have a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level. Current certification in one or all of the following certifications, CSCCA, C.S.C.S., USAW. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors or Master’s Degree in exercise science or related field, experience in collegiate strength and conditioning weight room and a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level. COMPENSATION: This is a PAID position. Internship credit may also be obtained for current degree program enrolled in. We have had a good track record of helping past interns place at other institutions or in the private sector. DEADLINE: In order to be considered, applications must be received by May 5th, 2014. Jacksonville: Jacksonville University Department of Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for Strength and Conditioning VOLUNTEER INTERNS for the Fall 2014 semester. Approximate start date August 11th through December 12th 2014. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for football and all 18 varsity Olympic Sports, daily maintenance and upkeep of equipment in the weight room, assisting in teaching proper technique to student athletes, and professional development. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION WILL BE PROVIDED; Candidates must have a strong work-ethic and a strong desire to be in the collegiate strength and conditioning coaching field. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor's degree or be in the last semester of coursework for undergraduate degree in exercise physiology or related field of study. Western Kentucky: Western Kentucky is looking for volunteer summer interns. Duration: MAY 26th, 2014 thru August 1st, 2014 COMPENSATION: Voluntary. RESPONSIBILITIES: Under direction of the Assistant Director for Strength and Conditioning intern will assist staff in the implementation of strength & conditioning programs for Western Kentucky Football. Expected to perform a variety of tasks that include: · Weight room and equipment up-keep and maintenance, Pre-workout set-up, Post-workout clean-up, Supplement provision, Research to further personal development, Field related projects. QUALIFICATIONS: · Must be completing or have completed a degree in Exercise Science or related field, Current CPR/AED and First AID Certification, Ideally will have or pursuing a USAW, CSCCa or CSCS certification. Buffalo: The State University of New York – Buffalo Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for 4 Volunteer Interns for the summer of 2014. The internship begins June 16th , 2014 and ends July 31st, 2014. This is an unpaid position. However, the position offers the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning as well as the fulfilment of credit hours toward a program degree based on circumstance. Daily responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to; assistance in the supervision of the University at Buffalo’s Football team, set up and break down for daily strength and conditioning activities, routine maintenance, cleaning, and organization of the training facility.
