Vanderbilt: Vanderbilt University is accepting applications for Intern Sports Performance Coaches to contribute to the Vanderbilt Football Sports Performance Program. Qualified candidates will serve the Football program as a non-counted coach that will have the opportunity to observe all training sessions and assist with set-ups, breakdowns, spotting and additional administrative responsibilities. This is an unpaid opportunity. Required qualifications include achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related course of study in addition to certification in CPR/AED. This internship is expected to begin no later than Monday, April 28th 2014 and has the opportunity, based on evaluation, to extend throughout the entire 2014 football season. Hampton: Hampton University is seeking two (2) highly motivated and qualified candidates for the position of VOLUNTEER/INTERN for Hampton University Football Strength and Conditioning. The capable candidates will have the opportunity to advance their competence while gaining knowledge and experience in the field of Athletic Performance at a Division 1 institution. Candidates will also gain valuable networking connections and references for future advancement. College credit will also be awarded where appropriate. Responsibilities for both non-paid positions are: assist S&C staff with all daily maintenance and operational duties, involvement in volunteer/intern professional development program, as well as other duties assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Required Qualifications: Applicants should be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field. Must have a strong desire to be involved in Strength and Conditioning at the collegiate level. This non-paid position requires a minimum of 30 hours per week. Washington State: Washington State University is looking for an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for Football. This is a full time position that entails assisting the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach with the implementation of all phases of the Strength and Conditioning programs for football. A Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree preferred. Three years previous coaching experience is required (preferably at the collegiate level). Must be CSCCa, USAW or NSCA certified. Applicant must be able to teach all Olympic movements and squatting movements, experience in acceleration and speed development and have experience teaching them to large groups.
