Akron: The University of Akron strength and conditioning program is currently accepting applications for a football only Graduate Assistant position. All applicants must have at least one full year of experience in college strength and conditioning, a bachelors degree in an exercise science related field, CPR certification, CSCS, SCCC or USAW certification, and an endless passion to be a college football strength and conditioning coach. This G.A position will pay a stipend of $6,000/year and tuition for a two year masters degree program. Responsibilities will include assisting with the supervision of football training programs, being directly responsible for lifting groups of up to 12 athletes per session, extensive date entry, and completion of multiple educational assignments. Strake Jesuit College Prep (Houston, TX): Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston, Texas is accepting applications for Summer and Fall 2014 volunteer interns (non-paid). Strake Jesuit is an all-boys college prep high school competing in 13 sports and is a member of the UIL (University Interscholastic League). Intern requirements include either a completed or in final year of completing undergraduate college course work in the following areas: Kinesiology, Health, Physical Education, Exercise Prescription, Nutrition, Sports Studies or Sports Psychology. If completing undergraduate course work, internship can be used for college credit. Interns will take part in the Continuing Education Program and will assist the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach and assistant coaches in the training and development of all 13 sports. Interns will be required to work at least 20 hours per week and take part in the overall Mission and guidelines of Strake Jesuit College Preparatory. Local candidates are highly desired.
