Hours after updated contract information came out on Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer, and Texas A&M defensive coordinator John Chavis, the Oregonian released salary information that they obtained on Oregon State head coach Gary Andersen and his staff.
As we've previously covered, Andersen's deal is for six years and starts at a base salary of $2.45 million. That base salary goes up by $100,000 annually, meaning by 2020 he'll be making $2.95 million annually. In 2014 at Wisconsin, Andersen made just under $2.3 million per year.
Included in Andersen's incentives are:
-$100k for an eight win season, $150k for nine wins, and $200k for 10 wins or more
-$50k for a win over Oregon in the Civil War
-$50k for making the Pac-12 championship game
- $100k for making the College Football Playoff
-$25k for conference Coach of the Year and $50k for for a national Coach of the Year award
Andersen's buyout if he were to leave for another Pac-12 or NFL job is set at $3 million, and is $2.5 million for all other opportunities.
The Oregonian also found that the salary pool for his assistant coaches is up from what Mike Riley had for his staff in 2014. Andersen and hiss staff were given about $2.64 million, and Riley's 2014 staff has $2.35 to work with. Kalani Sitake is the highest paid assistant at $730,008, and every new coach received a raise from their previous coaching stop, except for Kevin McGiven who went from offensive coordinator at Utah State to quarterbacks coach for the Beavers. All coaches are also on multi-year deals.
