Big 12 Expansion: The Big 12 Presidents have directed commissioner Bob Bowlsby to evaluate schools interested in joining the conference. OU President David Boren added that the conference is open to adding either two or four member universities. Boren named several factors the conference will consider in expanding: strength of athletic programs, fan base, media market, reputation and academic standing.
University of Buffalo: Buffalo has an immediate opening for a Video Coordinator for Football. This position is responsible for the day to day video needs for the football staff and program. Georgia: According to OnlineAthens.com, Georgia is spending $2,893,550 on their 34 support staff positions this fall (which does not include Kirby Smart, the nine assistant coaches, and graduate assistants). That figure is up from $2,171,393 from last season. Director of player development Jonas Jennings makes $215,730 annually (up from $81,750 from his role as player relations coordinator last year), DFO Josh Lee makes $185,400 (up from $137,500 last year), director of player personnel Marshall Malchow makes $180,00, special teams analyst James Collono makes $82,400, director of football administration Mike Cavan makes $185,000, and director of player wellness Bryant Gantt makes $128,750.
South Dakota School of Mines (D-II - SD): South Dakota School of Mines is looking for a part-time assistant defensive line coach for this Fall. This is a 9 month, stipend position. Dakota College (JC - ND): Roger "Tony" Mitchell is joining the staff as offensive coordinator / offensive line coach. Mitchell spent last season at ASA College (JC - Miami, FL) and prior to that was the head coach at Piper HS (FL).
Cornell: Iowa State director of scouting John Kuceyeski has now officially accepted the running backs job as we previously reported he planned to do.
Texas State: Former Ohio University director of player personnel Michael George has joined the Texas State staff in the same role.
Louisiana Tech: Sources tell FootballScoop to expect Skip Holtz to promote Armani Perez from assistant director of recruiting & player personnel to director. We further hear that Tech will look to hire a new assistant director.
Los Angeles Rams: LA Tech director of recruiting & player personnel Chance Trickett has accepted a scouting position with the Rams.
Oklahoma: The Sooners have announced offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh and defensive backs coach Kerry Cooks have added assistant coordinator titles.
St. Scholastica (D-III - MN): Matt Keith, the former offensive line coach at Beloit College (D-III - WI) has joined the staff as offensive line coach / strength and conditioning coordinator, per source.
Illinois College (D-III - IL): Illinois College is seeking applications for a $1, 500 seasonal stipend position assistant coach (RBs). The coach is responsible for coaching position, meetings, game planning, assisting the offensive coordinator, and head coach. St. Lawrence (D-III - NY): Jordan Berrian, former of The Coast Guard Academy, has joined the staff as wide receivers coach, per source. We are told that there are currently no open positions on the St. Lawrence staff at this time.
Shorter (D-II - GA): Shorter has an opening for an offensive line / operations graduate assistant. Previous offensive line playing/coaching experience preferred. Will be responsible for off the field operations and other duties assigned by the head coach. Full tuition and limited meals are provided. No housing or stipend. Mesabi Range (JC - MN): Mesabi Range College has 1 offensive & 1 defensive position available immediately. Due to a favorable change with the housing arrangements this opportunity has been reposted and all previous candidates are urged to reapply. All positions will be considered with current staff adjustments a possibility. Responsibilities include position coach, recruiting and other duties as assigned by the head coach. Pay ranging from $2,400 to $3,600 depending on qualifications. Intramural program or Weight/Fitness room duties may also be available for an additional $1,800 if qualified. These openings include shared apartment (4 bdrm, 2 bath) with possible weekend duties. These positions exist to provide management of the operational aspects of Mesabi Range’s residence hall program.
