According to a report from Sporting Intelligence, Ole Miss is the nation's top program when it comes to their alums and their earning status in the NFL.
ESPN points out that Ole Miss has 18 of its former players in the The League, and they bring home an average of $4.1 million annually. The list is lead by names like Eli Manning (who made $19.8 million in 2014) and Greg Hardy ($13.1 million last season).
You can bet the farm that you'll see that one on the next round of recruiting material that comes out of Oxford. That's a pitch that can carry some weight with high school kids who have had dreams of playing in the NFL and making a really good living.
Surprisingly (at least to me), second on the list was Virginia, followed by Oklahoma, Texas and Michigan rounding out the top five.
Overall, nine SEC programs (Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia, Texas A&M, Florida, Auburn, Alabama, Missouri, South Carolina) made the top 25 list, followed by six Pac-12 teams (Utah, Cal, USC, Oregon State, Oregon, UCLA), five Big Ten programs (Michigan, Iowa, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State), three ACC programs (Virginia, Miami, Virginia Tech), and two Big 12 programs (Oklahoma and Texas) - both of which made the top five.
