Indiana: The Department of Strength and Conditioning at Indiana University is now accepting volunteer internship applications for the Spring Semester. This position is unpaid. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with daily facility maintenance, learning from and assisting strength and conditioning coaches in the training of Collegiate Athletes. Candidates must be CPR/AED certified. Additional Strength and Conditioning certifications are preferred, but not mandatory. This program will include educational projects and discussions. Communication skills, discipline, and a strong work ethic are the characteristics necessary to be successful. Arkansas Tech (D-II): Arkansas Tech University: The Strength and Conditioning Department at Arkansas Tech University is accepting VOLUNTEER internship applications for Football only interns for the spring semester. Dates for the internship are January 14th, 2016 – May 1st, 2016. This is an unpaid position. Responsibilities include: Showing up at noon Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and 6am Friday morning. Will have access to media operations including Twitter. Assisting with setup of weight room for football sessions. Nightly weight room clean up. Supervision of speed and agility stations. Supervision for the safety of football athletes such as spotting. Assisting with daily facility maintenance, and all other departmental functions. Intern qualifications: Local candidates from Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma are strongly encouraged to apply. Punctuality; Strong communication skills; Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Familiar with Apple products (iOS); Attention to detail; Strong work ethic and Ability to follow directions. Preferred qualifications: Pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s in Exercise Science or related field; CPR/AED Pursuing certification - CSCS, SCCC, and/or USAW certification. Interns will receive: experience working at the Division 2 level with a full- time strength and conditioning staff, potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable.
