Illinois: The University of Illinois Football Strength and Conditioning is currently accepting applications for internship positions for the Fall of 2015. Interns will have the opportunity to work with University of Illinois Football. These internships are unpaid and non-coaching positions. Prerequisites: Candidates must be working toward or considering pursuing certification through the CSCCa and/or NSCA. Those accepted will assist in the day to day operations of the facility, including: assistance with administrative duties, cleaning and maintenance duties, set-up and break-down of equipment for every workout, as well as participation in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship. Candidates must possess strong work ethic, character and a desire to pursue a career in the strength and conditioning field. Candidates must be able to commit a considerable amount of time to practical strength and conditioning experience, must have outstanding work ethic and attention to detail. This is a great opportunity to gain experience at the Division 1 level and expand knowledge in the field of strength and conditioning. Southern University (Baton Rouge, LA): Southern University is accepting applications for a Fall 2015 semester internship position that would work with the Strength and Conditioning Department. This is an UNPAID position that is responsible for assisting the Southern University Strength and Conditioning Staff with the implementation of programs and all other departmental functions. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Other preferred qualifications include a CSCS or SCCC certification, previous coaching in a collegiate setting, and proficiency in Olympic movements. Hardin-Simmons (D-III - TX): East Central University (D-II - OK) grad assistant Kade Cole has accepted the head strength and conditioning position at Hardin-Simmons. Cole played and interned at Tarleton State (D-II - TX) and interned at the University of Kentucky.
