Nova Southeastern (D-II - FL): Nova Southeastern University, located in Fort Lauderdale, FL, is currently accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant for Strength & Conditioning. The successful candidate will have full responsibility of at least three teams and will assist with the implementation of strength training, conditioning, speed/agility, flexibility and recovery workouts for all 17 athletic teams in our state of the art 5,500sq ft Strength & Conditioning Complex. Qualifications: The GA positions are required to work up to but not limited to 35 hours per week, which include flexible hours, evenings and weekends. GA positions work 12-month, renewable contracts. Graduate Assistants must be enrolled at a full time status (6 credits per semester) and be in good academic standing throughout their employment. Applicants must be admitted into their respective graduate program before they can sign a contract through NSU Student Employment. Candidates must be certified with at least one of the following organizations CSCCa (SCCC), NSCA (CSCS), or USAW. Start Date: August 1, 2014 Candidates must choose one of the two financial packages offered: GA Package 1: Total Compensation = $27,050 • Tuition Scholarship up to $10,000 per year ($4,000 fall/winter, $2,000 summer) • Housing – Full Cost. Single apartment in the residence halls (includes utilities). Valued at $14,050.00 • Meal Plan - $3,000 ($1,500 each semester, fall/winter, used only by Graduate Assistant). This is a declining balance plan that can be used in all dining areas on the NSU campus. GA Package 2: Total Compensation = $25,000 • Tuition Scholarship up to $12,000 per year ($5,000 fall/winter, $2,000 summer) • Annual Stipend –$12,000 per year ($923.08/month, $461.54/biweekly) • Meal Plan - $1,000 ($500 each semester, fall/winter, used only by Graduate Assistant). Rice: The Department of Strength and Conditioning for Athletics at Rice University is accepting applications and resumes for VolunteerStrength and Conditioning Interns for Football and Olympic Sports. These positions will begin immediately for the Spring, Summer and Fall Semesters of 2014. These are unpaid Internships. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS. Bachelor’s degree or seeking hourly or formal internship requirements for the completion of an undergraduate or master’s degree. A strong desire to not only pursue Strength and Conditioning Coaching as a career, but to also obtain Strength and Conditioning Coaching Certifications either from the C.S.C.C.A. or the N.S.C.A. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an extensive knowledge and coaching experience with Olympic- style lifting exercises. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS. Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or a related field or Master’s Degree in Exercise Science or a related field. Knowledge and experience in the implementation of strength and conditioning programming for college level athletes. Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (S.C.C.C.) - from the C.S.C.C.A. All selected interns will have the option to obtain Practicum Hourly Requirements needed for the Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (S.C.C.C.) from the C.S.C.C.A. by an approved C.S.C.C.A. mentor, Kevin Yoxall. Rice: The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at Rice University has a vacancy for an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach - Football. Minimum Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree (preferred - Exercise Sciences or related fields) with a minimum of 1 year full-time experience in the organization and implementation of strength and conditioning programs in Football and a wide range of men’s and women’s college athletics. Also certifications of S.C.C.C. or C.S.C.S. Candidates must also have extensive knowledge and coaching experience with detailed programing for Football Strength and Conditioning. Candidates must also have extensive knowledge and coaching experience with Olympic-style lifting exercises.
