Lou Holtz's Florida home damaged in house fire and Urban's house has flooded (Urban Meyer)

The Orlando area home of legendary coach Lou Holtz was damaged in a fire, which was sparked by a lightning strike, according to WESH-TV in Orlando.

According to the South Bend Tribune, in the early morning hours Sunday (at around 3am) about 50 firefighters from the Orlando police department were dispatched to Holtz's home. According to Holtz, the fire went through the first floor ceiling, causing the roof to cave in. The official cause of the fire is still being investigated, but local reports have Holtz attributing the fire to a lightning strike.

Two firefighters sustained minor injuries fighting the blaze and were treated on the scene, but other than that, everyone got out safely.

Holtz led Notre Dame for a decade (including the National title in 1988), and also served as head coach at NC State, William and Mary, South Carolina, and with the NFL's New York Jets franchise. Holtz recently retired from his post as an ESPN commentator.

Please keep coach Holtz and his family in your thoughts during this difficult time.

In semi-related news, Urban Meyer's house in Ohio flooded over the weekend when a pipe apparently burst,. leaving about a foot (or so) of standing water in the Meyer's basement. It hasn't been the best start to the week for home-owning coaches.

I guess it's probably just a coincidence that almost two decades ago Urban Meyer was Lou Holtz's receivers coach, and now - not even 24 hours apart - they're going through different versions of every home owner's nightmare.
