The inaugural FootballScoop radio show

This evening we went live with the first FootballScoop radio show.

Over the years I have typically not done much radio. When stations call to ask about speculation I typically say thank you; but no thank you. We don't do FootballScoop for the news aspect, we do FootballScoop to help coaches and going on radio to break news has never really appealed to me. However, after significant discussions with the local ESPN radio group, we decided to create FootballScoop radio in which we gives coaches a platform to tell their story and we help to shed some positive light on the profession and the good people within it.

This first show, given the time of year, naturally focused significantly on coaching hires; but we also had the opportunity to spend about 10 minutes with new Kansas head coach David Beaty who shared some very interesting insight into his approach to interviewing for the position, and how he tried to respond to over 1,000 people who reached out to him after he got the job. Well worth your time.

A couple of marks:

18:30 for our lead into and then interview with David Beaty

32:50 I offer that I think Tulsa's hire of Philip Montgomery is a great hire

41:20 Steve Spurrier Jr. a potential at Kentucky?

46:45 Perhaps my favorite hire of the year...Stec at Missouri State
