Findlay (D-II - OH): The University of Findlay is accepting applications for Fall 2015 volunteer intern coaches to contribute to the Strength & Conditioning program. Qualified candidates will serve all sports including Football, and will have the opportunity to assist in all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. This is an unpaid opportunity that provides experience assisting with all aspects of training for all varsity sports, daily facility set-up and maintenance, assist with supervision and skill demonstration during training sessions, data collection and input, assist with outside activities as assigned by S&C Coach. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION WILL BE PROVIDED. Potential candidates must possess a strong work ethic, a willingness to be open to new ideas and possess a strong desire to enter the Sports Performance field, particularly at the collegiate level. In addition, the successful applicants should be working towards earning their Bachelor’s degree and a certification from the NSCA-CSCS, CSCCA, and/or USAW. Experience as a collegiate athlete is also desired. Interns must be CPR/AED certified. During this evaluation, interns will have the opportunity to compete and earn a Part-time assistant or Graduate assistant position on the Strength & Conditioning staff. Minnesota-Duluth (D-II): The University of Minnesota Duluth Athletics Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking an applicant for a PAID intern. The successful candidate will be assigned his/her own sports. Other responsibilities include assisting with daily operations, administrative and maintenance duties, weight room supervision and various assignments as directed by the strength staff. Must be highly motivated, possess strong interpersonal skills as well as written skills and provide positive leadership within the University of Minnesota Duluth Athletic Department. The position would start in August and is a 6 month position with the possibility of going longer. Requirements: bachelor’s degree, previous collegiate strength and conditioning experience and CSCS or USAW certifications preferred . Compensation: $1,000 per month. Pepperdine: The Pepperdine University Strength and Conditioning department is seeking applicants for the 2015 Non-Paid Fall Mentorship/Internship program. This program is designed for those interested in pursuing a career in collegiate strength and conditioning. Responsibilities will include helping with session set up and breakdown, completion of educational assignments and presentations on designated topics. Applicants must have a strong willingness to learn, excellent organizational skills, and be able to work well in a group setting. Requirements: College degree, CSCS (preferred not required) and CPR certification. Applications taken until the position is filled.
