College Football Playoff adds four Selection Committee members, stays pretty much the same (Top)

The College Football Playoff announced four new additions to its Selection Committee on Thursday, the first of a continuous cycle that will continue as long as the CFP is in existence.

The four additions are former Southern Miss head coach Jeff Bower, former Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr, former Central Michigan head coach Herb Deromedi and Oregon athletics director Rob Mullens. Each will serve a three-year appointment, beginning immediately.

“We are delighted that Jeff, Lloyd, Herb and Rob are joining the committee,” CFP executive director Bill Hancock said in a statement. “Throughout the selection process, it was essential that the four new members have an in-depth knowledge and passion for college football. Each of these four fit that description perfectly. They will continue the high integrity of the committee.”

They will replace outgoing members Mike Gould, Pat Haden, Tom Osborne and Mike Tranghese.
