There are certain themes, logos and designs that are ubiquitous throughout the game of football. If a high school starts with the letter G, chances are they'll borrow "block G" of the Georgia Bulldogs and Green Bay Packers. Same for the letter C and the Chicago Bears. Most teams nicknamed the Mustangs will borrow SMU's iconic galloping mustang logo.
There are hundreds more examples across the landscape, and now one more appears ready to join the circuit of common helmet decal inspirations: Oregon.
The winged designed worn by the Ducks over the past two seasons has already been borrowed once on the college level, by the Rice Owls in this season's Liberty Bowl, and now it's seeped down to the high school level. The Westerville Central Warhawks (interesting how the wing design translates across the avian nickname family tree, no?) will debut their own replica of Oregon's lid.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?

Update: The style also spread to the Texas high school ranks this season.
