Video: Jeff Brohm is asked about the Louisville opening (Featured)

With the Louisville job now officially open, the moment we all expected transpired shortly after Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm took the podium at his weekly presser.

Brohm was asked about being connected the opening in his hometown, and the place he played quarterback and helped to cut his teeth as a play caller, and responded:

"I've heard the noise just like everyone else. I think, unfortunately, it's important for me to not comment on any speculation. Right now, I have a job, and we have work to do, and a lot of it."

See the video of that response below.

Purdue is sitting at 5-5 right now with games home against Wisconsin and then on the road to Indiana to lock up bowl eligibility.

Brohm is obviously Louisville's top target, and yesterday athletic director Vince Tyra addressed that specifically, so it's going to be interesting to see how this search plays out the next few days and weeks.
