Update at Louisiana Lafayette

For whatever reason this search seemed to take until this week to really begin to form a plan. Interviews were held off campus this week. Among those who sources tell us participated in the process include Penn State defensive coordinator Brent Pry and Arizona State offensive coordinator Billy Napier.

Additionally, former assistants known well at ULL, Nicholls head coach Tim Rebowe and Grambling head coach Broderick Fobbs both have had discussions are should not be ruled out of consideration is our understanding.

Indications from our sources early yesterday was that the job was likely to be offered to Pry; however, sources told FootballScoop yesterday afternoon no offer had been extended. This morning Bruce Feldman reported that Pry has emerged as the favorite for the job.

The whisper in the profession for about a week now has been that ULL officials wanted to speak with Sam Houston head coach KC Keeler. Keeler's Bearkats take on North Dakota State in an FCS semifinal game Friday night. The winner advances to the National Championship January 6th.

Is ULL truly willing to wait to speak with Keeler, or will they decide they need to get someone in house sooner? We'll keep you posted...

As always stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest coaching job information.

Update>This evening Chris Karpman who covers ASU is reporting Billy Napier has now been offered the job. Sources told us Brent Pry was having ongoing discussions earlier today; but it appears the search shifted to Billy.
