Todd Graham - Total Surrender (to Jesus) (Todd Graham)

11 months ago, Todd Graham's run as head coach of the Arizona State Sun Devils ended.

"It was November 26, 2017 and I had just lost my job as Arizona State's football coach. I didn't understand why it was happening...we had just finished the regular season with a winning record at 7-5. We averaged nearly eight wins a year over the previous 12 years. And yet here I was, out of job. But my will isn't God's."

This morning Graham shared an article he wrote on Athletes for God. Graham wrote, "At this point in my life I had totally surrendered to what God was telling me."

On how he's doing 11 months later, Graham offers, "I think people are wondering how I am handling it so well, and it's because of what I told reporters at the press conference [the day he was fired]: I serve a great God. I felt the love of Christ in my heart. The day I was fired I had opened up my Bible and the first thing that I came upon was Proverbs 3: 5-6, which says, 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight.' My path has certainly straightened out over the last year. God restored my soul. I have gotten to spend more time with my family than I ever have before, and for the first time in years I've had plenty of time to sit down and talk with God."

People often talk about a coach's "coaching tree"; but this article makes it clear Graham is more interested in using his talents to help more young men see Jesus in their lives. He's investing in growing God's Kingdom.
