Florida State: Florida State University OLYMPIC Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for interns for the FALL 2018 and SPRING 2019 academic semesters. This is a volunteer, UNPAID, position and offers Division I hands-on coaching experience in an educational environment and the opportunity for future recommendations or opportunities in the field of strength and conditioning. Responsibilities will include: assist the OLYMPIC Strength and Conditioning staff; set-up and breakdown of sessions; cleaning and upkeep of facility; spotting and working with specified student-athletes and/or small groups; assist with daily administrative and maintenance duties; and participate in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship. Minimum Qualifications: must have a strong work-ethic, enthusiasm, a desire to develop the characteristics necessary to become a successful strength and conditioning coach, and able to work 30 hours/ week. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field and pursuing CSCS or relevant certification from one of the following: NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW and CPR –First Aid certification. Mercer: Mercer University is seeking applications for Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning. Morehead State: Morehead State University is looking for a candidates for a paid internship position for Fall 2018 with possibility of moving to a Graduate Assistant position starting in January. Must have CPR/AED, and CSCS or similar certification preferred. North Alabama: The University of North Alabama Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant of Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Fall Semester of 2018. North Alabama is a Division I Athletics program in the ASUN Conference for Olympic sports and Big South Conference for Football, located in Florence, AL. This position offers tuition waiver as well as a monthly stipend. Qualified candidates would be primarily responsible for the development, implementation and coaching of programs for Women’s Basketball as well as provide assistance in daily operation of the weight room. This individual will report to the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, and work closely with the Women’s Basketball Coaching Staff. Candidates need to be knowledgeable in sport specific training, motivated, high energy, and contain great communication skills. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is required, previous experience working in the collegiate setting (basketball experience preferred), CSCS or SCCC, CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
