Sacred Heart (FCS - CT): The Sacred Heart University Strength & Conditioning Staff is looking for qualified interns with an interest in Collegiate Strength & Conditioning to work with the Sacred Heart University Football Team during their training sessions this summer. There will be opportunities to work with other teams as well. These positions are unpaid, do not include housing or meals, but will provide valuable experience in Collegiate Strength & Conditioning. The internship start date will be May 28and will go until July 31. Preferred candidates should possess or be working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in or related to the field of Exercise Science. An NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa, or USAW Certification is preferred but not required. Southeastern (NAIA - FL): Southeastern University is looking to hire a Full-Time Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or certification by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA). Must maintain certification. CPR/AED and First Aid certified. Responsibilities include: being in conjunction with the Director Sports Medicine and working with head coaches, develop and implement sport specific strength and conditioning programs for 18 intercollegiate athletic teams so that the needs of each athlete and team are met. Possess a wide array of knowledge for a multitude of sports to be able to implement programs for all athletic teams individualized to their specific needs. Demonstrate proper performance of exercises, ensuring proper execution by clientele for both efficiency and safety; manage programs by monitoring progress and providing assessment tools for development. Some of the Skills needed are listed below. Ensure that policies and procedures are developed, reviewed, communicated, and implemented consistently across all programs and services. Assist in scheduling athletic weight room times during the week for all 18 collegiate teams, as well as scheduling open gym times for general population of students and faculty on campus. Communicate and interact with the sport coaches and athletic training staff of assigned teams on a daily and weekly basis. Must possess positive leadership and communication skills to promote a positive team attitude. Must be well organized and flexible to meet time, priority and workload demands. Must be available to work flexible hours including nights and weekends. Performs other related duties as assigned.
