Miami (OH): The Miami University Strength & Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for volunteer interns for all 17 varsity sports, including Football, during the Summer and/or Fall of 2017. Qualifications: Ideal candidates will possess a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a strong desire to become a Strength & Conditioning Professional. Weekends may be required. May be used for class credit through any institution, but not required. Compensation: This is an unpaid voluntary position. Candidates will gain experience training Division-1 athletes, exposure to sports nutrition, program design, professionalism, and have the potential to earn recommendation towards future employment in the field. Successful completion of the fall internship may lead to an extension with the program into future semesters. William Penn (NAIA - IA): William Penn University is currently accepting applications for a PAID Strength & Conditioning Fellowship. This is a 12 month position starting July 24th. There will be a monthly stipend attached to the position along with continuing education opportunities such as attending conferences and clinics. At the end of the position, there is a possibility of continuing on as a Graduate Assistant. Responsibilities include assisting with the design and implementation for a variety of William Penn Universityโs collegiate sports. The qualified candidate will be assigned sports based on his/her background and experience. The position will also assist the Head Strength & Conditioning coach, help with maintenance of the Randleman Fitness Center, and perform other duties as assigned by the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach. Proven knowledge and experience with sport specific strength, speed, and agility programs is necessary. Candidates must hold a BA/BS in exercise science or a health related field and be working toward certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength & Conditioning Association, SCCC through the CSCCa, and/or hold a USAW-Sports Performance Certificate. Candidates must hold a minimum 3.0 GPA within their undergraduate field of study. Candidates with an athletic background or experience (volunteer/intern) in a collegiate strength and conditioning program is preferred. Augsburg (D-III - MN): Augsburg College is accepting applications for Strength & Conditioning Interns for the 2017 Fall Semester. Augsburg is a member of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and training of Augsburgโs 19 Division III intercollegiate athletic programs; assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties; and professional development throughout internship program. Qualifications include a strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm, and a strong desire to further one's career in the field of Strength & Conditioning. Preferred qualifications include: SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certifications; CPR/AED certification and previous coaching experience. This is an unpaid position, however, selected applicants will receive experience working with a wide variety of college athletes, better understand program design, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable.
