Missouri: The University of Missouri Department of Athletic Performance is accepting applications for Athletic Performance Interns for the 2019 summer session. The position will begin May 28th and conclude late July with the opportunity to continue into the fall semester. There is no monetary compensation provided, however, lends itself as a prime learning opportunity that qualifies as practical experience toward the 9 months or 640 hours required toward SCCC certification with the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association as well as theoretical and practical experience that can be applied to CSCS certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Applicants must have a strong desire to pursue a career in athletic performance. Priority will be given to applicants who have or are working towards and accredited certification (CSCCa, NSCA, USAW ) and have prior experience working in an athletic performance setting. Interns will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of three athletic performance facilities on campus. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to: providing assistance to the Football program and the Olympic sports teams, participation in professional development and continuing education opportunities, networking opportunities, program development and design, set up and break down of sessions, and routine maintenance of the facility. Individuals chosen for this position are subject to university background checks and CPR/First Aid/AED certified. Austin Peay: The Austin Peay State University Football Sports Performance Program is currently accepting applications for UNPAID summer internships to begin Sunday May 26th, 2019 and go through Friday, August 2nd, 2019. Applicants should have, or be working towards, a BA/BS in Exercise Science or a related field. Completion of this internship can fulfill credit hours towards a program degree and offer increased opportunities for advancement in the field of sports performance. Preferred qualifications include certification(s) from one or more of the following organizations: The CSCCa (SCCC), NSCA (CSCS), or USAW. Preferred qualifications also include previous coaching experience and proficiency in teaching basic weight room exercises. This position is responsible for assisting the football sports performance staff with the implementation of the off-season program, set up and break down of all training sessions, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands-on experience training division-I collegiate athletes. US Air Force Special Warfare: The United States Air Force 13th ASOS at Fort Carson, CO is currently seeking UNPAID/volunteer Strength and Conditioning/Sport Science intern(s) for the Summer semester. The successful applicant(s) must be ready for a greater than normal internship experience and responsibilities. Along with these greater demands the successful intern will earn future recommendation and opportunities to develop leadership skills within the United States Air Force Special Warfare environment. The internship includes a 5-stage progressive program where the successful intern(s) will be further prepared for their career. Minimum requirements: Must be pursuing career in Strength and Conditioning and/or Sport Science in Tactical, NCAA, Professional, High School or Olympic levels. Motivated to COACH, this will not be observation based. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Bachelor’s degree in related field. CSCS as well as current CPR & First Aid prior to June 1, 2019. UNLV: The UNLV Football Strength and Conditioning program is seeking elite candidates for the SUMMER 2019 VOLUNTEER internship program. Qualified candidates will work directly with Football, and will have the opportunity to assist in all training sessions with the implementation of individualized, comprehensive, sport-specific injury prevention and performance enhancement programs. This is an UNPAID opportunity that provides experience working in a Division I FBS environment within the Mountain West Conference. If this is not an economically feasible option, please do not apply. Required qualifications: current CPR / AED; completion of an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science or a related field. Applicants should be working toward or have completed certification(s) from CSCCa and/or NSCA, previous coaching experience(s), experience in collegiate sports, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Valdosta State (D-II - GA): Valdosta State University is now accepting applications for the position as a Graduate Assistant - Strength & Conditioning Coach. The Graduate Assistant will report directly to the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach and will be responsible for up to three Olympic sports as their respective strength & conditioning coach. Added responsibilities include: primarily assisting with the Football training program, coordinating and developing the Internship Education Program, as well as helping implement the overall training programs for all sports. This position requires the Graduate Assistant to maintain a 3.0 GPA while pursuing a Master’s Degree. Compensation includes a monthly stipend and tuition waiver. The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science (or related field) and must also be admitted into a graduate program at Valdosta State University through the Graduate School. CSCS or SCCC & CPR/AED certifications are required. Macalester College (D-III - MN): Macalester College a NCAA Division III member of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference(MIAC), is accepting applications for a Sports Performance Intern. The position is an unpaid and for the 2018 fall semester. A time commitment of 15-30 hours per week is required. Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assisting the strength and conditioning staff with the design and implementation of strength, speed, and agility programs; Assisting with the supervision of training programs; Daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment; Assisting with daily administrative and maintenance items; Other duties as assigned by the Head of Sports Performance; Intern qualifications include: Knowledge of exercise & the human body; Punctuality; Enthusiasm; Strong work ethic.
