Kent State: The Kent State University Basketball Sports Performance Staff is looking for qualified interns for Summer 2018 (June 4 – August 4). Responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and training of KSU’s Basketball Teams, assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties and other duties as assigned by the Head Basketball Sports Performance Coach. This is an UNPAID internship. Candidates must be receiving college credit in order to participate. Preferred qualifications: Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in exercise physiology or related field; Current or pursing NSCA-CSCS or USAW certifications; CPR certification required. Experience in a Strength and Conditioning Program or having previous collegiate athletics experience is preferred. Maine: The University of Maine Sports Performance department is now accepting intern applications for the Summer sessions of 2018. Applicants should be working toward a degree in Exercise Science (or a related field), or hold an undergraduate degree in the respective field. Selected individuals should expect to gain experience working with all 15 Division 1 sports at The University of Maine, including Ice Hockey (Hockey East), Football (FCS, CAA), Basketball (America East) as well as other nationally recognized programs. Applicants should be highly motivated, eager to learn, and possess the desire to be involved with high-level collegiate athletics. Applicants must be able to commit a minimum of 20 hours per week working with the Sports Performance staff; undertaking responsibilities of working with both in-season and off-season program implementation, set-up and breakdown of team lifts, coaching as directed, and other administrative duties as assigned. Once accepted into the Sports Performance Internship role, interns should expect to learn directly from the sports performance staff through team training sessions, as well as involvement in weekly staff meetings and intern education workshops designed to prepare interns to sit for the CSCS exam if not already certified. Liberty: The Liberty University Football Performance Staff is currently seeking Strength and Conditioning Interns for the summer of 2018. This internship will provide experience working with a Division I football team, provide opportunities for development as a professional in the field and be mentored under Master Strength Coach Bill Gillespie. These Intern positions will be unpaid and will start on June 5, 2018. Interns must be highly self-motivated, have great work ethic, and want to pursue a career in Strength and Conditioning. This is approved for a CSCCA SCCC internship. Interns will assist with implementing the strength and conditioning program and weight room maintenance. Menlo College (NAIA - CA): The Menlo College Sports Performance Department is accepting applications for (1) FALL of 2018 intern positions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Sports Performance staff with the implementation of sport specific injury prevention, strength, speed, agility, flexibility, mobility, and conditioning program. Benefits include small semester stipend, lunch, athletic apparel, CEU’s, networking & educational trips along. Once training is complete you will be assigned 2-3 teams for which you will designing and implement programs under the departmental philosophy.Candidates should be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s in a related field and at least one of the following certifications must be in progress: CSCS, SCCC, USAW. Candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong character, demonstrate effective organization and communication skills and must have a strong willingness to learn and must be a self-starter. Embry Riddle (D-II - FL): Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is looking for a PAID INTERN Strength and Conditioning Coach. This position will start August and end May 25th. All applicants must be highly motivated, with a strong work ethic, and wish to pursue a career in Strength and Conditioning. Duties will include programming and leading team workouts for assigned teams; working with athletic trainers and sports coaches; assisting with other sports teams. Required qualifications includes: A bachelor’s degree with CSCS certification or SCCC certification. This position pays $9.00 per hour, 40 hours a week, and includes a meal plan for the semester. Missouri Southern State: The Missouri Southern State University Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for Volunteer Intern Strength and Conditioning Coaches for the summer of 2018. Projected dates of the Internship are June 4 th through August 3 rd 2018 with the possibility of an earning an extension. This is a voluntary position and will receive no monetary compensation. Preference will be given to Candidates who possess or are working towards Certification through the NSCA or CSCCa, CPR / First Aid / AED Certification, outstanding organizational and computer skills, great work ethic and professionalism. Previous coaching and / or playing experience is a plus. Verbal communication skills with diverse populations is a must. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Set up and breakdown of training sessions for all sports, general maintenance and upkeep of Athletic Facilities, communication with Sport Coaches, Athletic Training staff and Administration, assist with Football and all Olympic Sports. Added responsibilities as earned. Such as, input into program design and leading groups / teams. Our goal is to develop COACHES. Selected candidates will receive valuable experience in the day to day operations of a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Department, program design and implementation, nutrition, speed, agility and explosive training.
