North Carolina: The University of North Carolina Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning is accepting applications for the SUMMER 2019 Athletic Development Internship Program. This is an unpaid position. Start date: MAY 13th End Date AUGUST 16th. Intern responsibilities include: Assisting with the supervision of training programs; Assisting with daily operations and facility/equipment maintenance; Completion of various educational assignments during the internship; Sport Science data acquisition and organization. Intern qualifications include: Punctuality; Enthusiasm; Strong work ethic; Ability to volunteer a minimum of 40 hours per week. Preferred qualifications include: Senior status or completion of a bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field; SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certification; CPR certification and a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach. Robert Morris (FCS - PA): Robert Morris University is currently seeking qualified volunteer internship candidates for the 2019 Summer Semester. The strength and conditioning program will run from late May (date flexible) to Mid- August. This is an unpaid position however, it is acceptable to have a part-time job to assist with personal finances. Chosen candidates can also have the opportunity to complete internship hours required for the CSCCa – SCCC exam under the mentorship of the Head Strength Coach. The daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the football program and 15 other DI athletic teams, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities, professional development throughout the semester, any other tasks assigned by the strength and conditioning staff. Interns will gain hands on coaching experience in a collegiate setting, education in program design and application, have the potential to earn future recommendations for career opportunities. In addition, there is opportunity for advancement within the Robert Morris strength and conditioning department as an apprentice, graduate assistant or part-time assistant. The internship program’s goal is to advance the intern’s future in the strength and conditioning profession. Minimum Qualifications: Strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm. Effective communication skills. Desire to become a strength and conditioning coach. First Aid, CPR & AED certified. Preferred Qualifications: Pursuing or have attained a bachelor’s or master’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, exercise physiology or related field. Pursuing or have attained relevant certifications: CSCS, USAW, FMS, etc. Previous coaching experience in a collegiate, professional, high school or private sector setting. LSU: Louisiana State University is currently accepting applications for 5 Summer 2019 Volunteer Internship positions. Qualified candidates would work with the Football Strength and Conditioning Department as well as other Olympic sports. This is an unpaid position that is responsible for assisting the LSU Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of the Off-Season program, set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands on experience training collegiate athletes. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Participation in Collegiate Athletics is preferred. Other preferred qualifications include certification from an accredited organization, previous coaching experience, and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. Gardner Webb (FCS - NC): The Gardner-Webb University Athletic Performance Department is accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant. Gardner-Webb University is a private, Christian university in Boiling Springs, NC home to 22 NCAA Division I Athletics Programs. Tarleton State (D-II - TX): The Tarleton State University Athletic Performance Program is accepting internship applications for the summer 2019 semester, with a starting date on or before June 3, 2019 and an end date of August 2, 2019. The internship hours may be countable toward the CSCCa’s Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified practicum requirements, and/or for college credit if needed. The volunteer internship will involve active experience in an NCAA Division II Athletic Performance program under the supervision of a 35-year veteran Master Strength and Conditioning Coach and his staff. Qualifications: Applicants should be pursuing strength and conditioning as a profession and possess, or currently be working on, CSCCa, NSCA, or USAW certification. Compensation: This is an educational internship with no monetary compensation provided. Carolina Panthers: Carolina Panthers: The Carolina Panthers Football Organization is currently accepting applications for TWO paid strength and conditioning internships for the 2019 Athletic Development program. Position #1- 10 MONTH SEASONAL. Duties will include assisting the strength and conditioning staff with all aspects of the athletic performance program during the Off-Season as well as the duration of the In- Season. Waldorf (NAIA - IA): Waldorf University Strength & Conditioning is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistantship for the 2019-2021 school years. The candidate will receive an online graduate tuition waiver and a $9,000 annual stipend for 12 months. This is a two year appointment and is not benefit eligible. The Citadel: The Citadel is currently accepting applications for two VOLUNTEER Strength & Conditioning (S&C) interns for Summer 2019. The internship will last from May 28 – July 26. Interns will gain practical experience working in a Division 1 S&C environment under the guidance of an approved CSCCa mentor. Minimum requirements include CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; an unwavering work ethic, a desire to become an industry professional, the ability to adjust to a demanding work schedule, and effective communication and leadership skills in a group setting. Other preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA, ACSM, USAW, CSCCa, etc.), previous intern or coaching experience, personal involvement in a competitive sport, and proficiency with computer productivity applications. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, daily, weekly, and semester long professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the S&C staff.
